While spending your holiday on Gran Canaria you would like to combine walking with a Spanish course? Discovery Gran Canaria cooperates with “Gran Canaria School of Languages”, a reputable language school in Las Palmas. The school is located in a nice building near the popular beach Las Canteras.
You could for example attend a 1 week Spanish course and then practice your knowledge while enjoying one of our language/walking packages. It is great fun and the locals really appreciate your efforts to speak their language. A possible option would be the combination of a language course and the self guided “hotel to hotel-trek”.

If you want to discover the fascinating walking opportunities on Gran Canaria and at the same time prefer to live among the local people, we recommend a holiday in a "Casa Rural", a typical Canarian rural house.
These former farm houses have been restored with care and love for details and they are nicely furnished, mostly following the Canarian tradition.
They are equipped with all the amenities to ensure your comfort and therefore are an ideal self-catering base for the many walks that often start near by.
One of the best locations to stay in a rural house is the lovely village of Santa Lucía in the Tirajana valley up in the mountains. You can not only enjoy great walks starting right in the village, Santa Lucía also has good restaurants and shopping opportunities. One of these rural houses is actually perfectly suited for a small group. You don´t even need a rental car. There is a bus and we could arrange pick up and drop off at the airport.
