The carefully selected family run rural hotels are some of the best on this island and have been chosen for their historic character, outstanding quality and friendliness as much as their comfort. All rooms are with private bathroom and WC. Breakfast and a tasty picnic lunch are provided every day. All the hotels are located in or very close to quaint little villages where after a nice day walk you can relax and enjoy the local atmosphere.
Rural Hotel Casa de Los Camellos in Aguimes
1. Night
The old camel barn in the historical centre of Aguimes has been converted into a lovely hotel and restaurant. The building and decoration are examples of the local Canarian architecture. The most impressive features are the peaceful court yard and the typical Canarian balconies. The 12 rooms display simple decoration with certain intentional colourful elements in the colonial style. They are equipped with satellite television, telephone and safe. The Hotel Casa de Los Camellos provides the perfect atmosphere to attune you to a wonderful walking vacation on Gran Canaria.
Rural Hotel La Hacienda del Molino in San Bartolomé de Tirajana
Option 1: 2. + 3. night, Option 2: 2. night
La Hacienda del Molino which used to be an old “Gofio“ mill (gofio is roasted cornmeal) is located in the centre of the quaint village of San Bartolomé in the heart of the island. This charming hotel is the starting-off point for many walkers. The decoration scheme is based on simplicity with cosy spots, combining stone with wood surfaces. The hotel has a restaurant that serves Canarian specialities, a beautiful patio (court yard, typical of Canarian houses) and a reading lounge with a fire place. The 8 bedrooms have a balcony and comforts like satellite television, air-conditioning and telephone.
Rural Hotel Fonda de La Tea in Tejeda

In Tejeda, one of the most beautiful villages of Gran Canaria, an old guesthouse from the 19th century with impressive views was restored and turned into the warm and comfortable Hotel Fonda de la Tea. Elements from traditional Canarian architecture and sophisticated decoration were combined to create a very pleasant ambience. The hotel has a typical Canarian courtyard and a cosy lounge with a fire place that invites to read or just chat with other guests (mostly walkers from various countries). All of the 9 comfortable rooms are decorated differently and have telephone, air-conditioning, TV, mini-bar and hair dryer.

Rural Hotel Las Longueras in the Valley of Agaete

Option 1+2: last night

Hotel Las Longueras is an elegant and eye-catching colonial mansion that dates back to 1895. Known as “The Red House” it was built as an autumnal residence in the centre of an orange, avocado, mango and papaya farm. This amazing hotel with views of the ocean exudes harmony through and through. In the unique decoration of the hotel the most predominant features are the harmonious combination of wood and rock surfaces, the range of colours and the collection of photography, paintings and antiques showcased along the hallways and in the rooms. The fascinating garden is captivating with hundred years old trees. The hotel includes a cosy dining room, a reading and a television lounge, snack bar, chapel and a swimming pool surrounded by palm groves and orange trees which perfume the air in spring with the delicate scent of their blossoms. The 10 rooms offer comforts like a safe, satellite television, mini bar and hair dryer. We are sure the Hotel Las Longueras will be the perfect end of your trekking vacation on Gran Canaria!
