Flora
Along side the numerous trails there are pine forests, colorful flowers, smelly herbs and many interesting plants that are endemic to the island.

Fauna
The animal world on Gran Canaria is really not known for its diversity. There are no poisonous snakes or scorpions. As a hiker you will rather encounter rabbits and many lizards. Among the birds you can observe blackbirds, finches, starlings, woodpeckers and several birds of pray.
